Leonard Robinson
TECHNICAL ADVISOR
Over the years, Leonard Robinson has built a highly successful track record in the private; public and non-governmental sectors in environmental management.
Mr. Robinson has served as Acting Director for the Cal/EPA–Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) for Governors Jerry Brown and Arnold Schwarzenegger. He was originally appointed in 2004 as Chief Deputy Director of DTSC. He directed a 1000+ person department with an annual operating budget of $200 million. He was part of the Executive Team at Cal/EPA that created California’s Climate Change Policy (AB32) and the Safe Consumer Products Regulation (Green Chemistry). Previously, he served former Governors Pete Wilson and Gray Davis on the Colorado River Board of California. During his political career, Robinson has served four California Governors.
Prior to his government service, Robinson was an Environmental/Safety Manager for TAMCO Steel, the only steel mill in California. In addition, he has been talk radio show host and is a much sought-after speaker, consultant, strategist, and lecturer on the Green Economy and Sustainability.
Mr. Robinson has served as: the President of Keep California Beautiful (KCB); a Vice-Chair of Communities Health Charities of California (CHCC); Vice-President of the California Waste Association (CWA); Chair of the California Black Chamber of Commerce Energy & Environmental Committee; a board member of Green Technology and Employment (GreenTech); advisor on the Sacramento State University Leadership for the Government Executive Continuing Education Program; advisor on the Advanced Technology Energy & Environmental Center (ATEEC) Chair of the Steel Manufacturers Association (SMA) Environment Committee and served on the National Environmental Justice Advisory Council (NEJAC).
